Tools for Daily Living

Audience:  Consumers facing major life change issues such as dealing with aging parents or learning to live with a chronic disease.

Challenge: The issue of work/life balance and proactive wellness is a growing one for many employers. On the healthcare side, research clearly shows significant savings if people take steps to remain healthy rather than treating disease after it occurs. And with changing workforce demographics, workers are in need of empowering tools to help them deal with major life changes that can negatively impact productivity at work. While many companies are developing online programs to encourage attitudinal and behavior change in employees, usage and long-term adoption of them often does not meet expectations.

Solution: PMG Communications recognized that, like many issues that require behavior modification, a multiple step approach is necessary to encourage people to change their behavior. In addition, creating the motivation to change works best when the audience hears from people they can identify with-those who have been in similar situations and can share their hard-earned lessons.PMG developed the Tools for Daily Living (TFDL) series to address these issues. The TFDL series provides a three-step approach:

  • Group Interaction
  • in the form of short "Lunch & Learn" topics, facilitated by a company's on-staff wellness personnel that include all materials necessary to conduct on-site seminars;

  • Video/DV
  • that individuals watch at home on the family television to address more specific, detailed information on the topic covered in the Lunch & Learn;

  • Interactive CD
  • to guide individuals through company-specific information and link them to on-line resources.
